Taylor Swift is Taylor Alison Swift. She was born December 13, 1989 in West Reading, Pennsylvania. Swift is a pop/country songwriter and singer for the past 20 years. The stories she tells of her romantic love in the midst of heartbreak and young love are gaining her acclaim throughout the 21st century. Swift was a fan of music since a young stage of her life. She quickly moved up in the ranks, beginning as a child actor and then performing before a huge crowd. Swift was just 11 when she sang The Star-Spangled Banner at a Philadelphia 76ers Basketball game. In the following year, she began writing songs and picked up the guitar. Swift was a singer who took influences from the music of Shania Twain and The Dixie Chicks now known as The Chicks within the realm of country music, composed the original songs she wrote to express her feelings of alienation. Swift's family relocated in Tennessee Pennsylvania when she was thirteen so she could be able to spend longer pursuing the country music label in Nashville.
